This or That?

Hi friends! Need a domesticated opinion on something.

So Dan & I were very fortunate to receive a Kitchenaid stand mixer for a wedding gift, something I have ALWAYS wanted! My initial thought was to get a red one (we have a red blender [shown here] and other accents of red for our kitchen: spatulas, towels, potholders, etc) but then after much debate, I thought it might be TOO much red and instead requested a white one. Also, for your information, we currently have a white kitchenaid hand mixer that I like as white and intend to keep that way.

Then the other day on watch I got to talking to some people, and Nicole said she had a red one and this guy Steve said his wife had a red one. Then I got serious buyers (or gift-receivers) remorse and wished that I too had a red one.

Fortunately for me, the standmixer is still in the box, as Dan had strict instructions NOT to play with it in my absence unless under the supervision of a qualified kitchenaid-er, like Rachel. I told Dan I was afraid he might use it as a cement mixer or paint stirrer or something, to which he responded "who do you think I am? Tim the Tool Man Taylor?"

So what do you, my cultured and knowledgable culinary friends, think? Stick with the basic white or go for something a little more bold?
