So after my last post, I went down to see Doc about my foot. (Don't worry, he immediately set to work on my foot before I could snap any gross photographic evidence of the scabbed over, red, wrinkly infection with the huge mountain swell on the top of my arch).
Turns out, I have a compression infection. He said it is similar to old people who get bed sores from laying in the same way for awhile. Except, instead of from laying, the infection is from a piece of the boot pushing against the top of my foot. It isn't like a blister though.
He said that the warm-to-the-touch mountain swell is a result of the infection spreading up my foot, which is why also my toes are starting to go numb. He said it could spread all the way up my leg, the longer I let it go! And to think I was being brave by "sucking it up" for a week or so!
I was given a shot of some sort of very strong antibiotic and put on Z-Pac. I also have to soak my foot in this disinfecant solution twice a day and wear a complex looking moleskin covering. The best part? I have to wear my sneakers to prevent the infection from growing.
If you thought I lookd ridiculous in my outfit now, you should see how desert cammies look with white Asics!
Anyways, the real downside is that I can't work-out b/c working out makes your feet swell :(
This is a travesty b/c no working out means no ice cream- and I was really looking forward to an ABOT XXL my last few nights here!
Alright well it's off to my afternoon nap (which will be longer now that I don't have to wake up to go work-out :)
Miss you all but I am a-ok! (Or will be soon!)
