... I know, I know, I said I didn't NEED anything. And I really truly don't. However, I couldn't help but share this awesome idea that I found perusing some websites online.
Cake in a Jar
If you were debating between sending something to AnySolider.com or to me, please choose the former. However, if you have looked into it, unfortunately AnySoldier cannot accept homemade goods because you can only accept homemade goods from people that you know.
This concept is HUGE in the military wives circles (not that I would actually know, since I'm not one, but I have heard :) and there are lots of women who blog about the best ways to ensure they turn out perfectly.

I had to share this. I think this is AWESOME. In addition to being great gifts for troops, it is also great for family and friends during holidays and birthdays that you may find yourself very far apart from (readers beware- upon my return, you may find yourself with an endless amount of Cake in a Jar multiple times a year). Apparently they can be done with all kinds of cake mixes and bread mixes too! I can't wait to get home and make Cake in a Jar!
Especially knowing all of my baking-saavy friends, I thought I would put this out there in hopes that you can get good use out of this for family and friends. Enjoy!
