Exhibit B: The Date I received the package (according to my watch, which is correct)

AND, I stand corrected from my post yesterday; I thought we couldn't get chocolate sent because it would be chocolate soup by the time it got here. Dad mailed me a box of 35 (yes you read that right!) chocolate bars and they all arrived in PERFECT condition. I helped myself to 6 packages of reeses peanut butter cups (not helped as in I ate, but helped as in I put in my fridge for a later date) and took the rest up to the ops office on P-5. The guys were all like "OH AWESOME, I've been wanting chocolate! NO, damn you- take away this bad for me food! No no!"
But they were secretly kidding because all 4 guys had one and then instead of leaving them in the office, one of the guys took the whole thing back to his CLU. So, thanks dad :)
Mom's box was all of the "weird" candy that I like- after dinner butter mints (ate 1/2 the package already...), runts, everlasting gobstoppers, wintergreen mints, individual packages of skittles and sweedish fish. Also took the sweedish fish to the ops center. I decided to keep for myself and only me, the butter mints, the runts, and one pack of gobstoppers (I contributed the other box to the "snack box" in the TOC for the watchstanders, which everyone was pretty excited about) and am saving the skittles to give out on Halloween.
Here's my loot:We are deciding whether or not we should teach the Iraqis about Halloween. We are kinda nervous they might get too into it and be creepy. I also don't want them knocking on my CLU door at night. Costume or not, that would be shady (they live on P-2, another platform).
I also got a very sweet card from my friend and fellow Chi Omega, Carolyn, who just got home in July from a year tour in Iraq in the Army. She is now out of the Army (or almost) and preparing for culinary school. It's nice to receive mail from someone who's been in your shoes (well, maybe not my exact shoes. It's too bad though, maybe she could have broken in my boots for me before I got here... j/k :)
I am going to try and not eat too much candy. The food here is really good, but luckily TONS of healthy options so I am working on eating healthy. That and the working out and the profuse sweating make it pretty easy, loosing weight comes easily around here. Everyone is pretty into being in shape. I drink 4-5 bottles of water every single day (plus one juice or one milk and two coke lights, because it's one of those things that makes me super happy :)
Also, we cannot drink the water that is made here. Why, you ask? Well, because the water that is purified here comes from right below the platform. And the Iraqis are less than careful with what they throw in the water. I won't even gross you out by telling you, it's that bad. So we can ONLY drink bottled water and we get almost a THOUSAND of them a week. (Greenpeace would have conniption if they knew how many pounds of plastic bottles we throw away each week). In addition, we brush our teeth with bottled water and we only eat off of plastic plates and with plastic utensils. Again, Greenpeace is going nuts if they were reading this, but I'll take my chances with the environment in favor of keeping my health relatively intact (you know, what hasn't been lost to breathing in the oil and fuel-laden air 24 hours a day and I am only 24 and all).
Alright, well, time for "mandatory fun with the Iraqis", which is twice a week. Tonight is the ice cream social. I swear, nobody likes ice cream and playing dominoes more than the Iraqis; it's crazy.
More to say later, but that's all for now!
